CHHS Limerick
By Elaini Livas Bingham
This is the class of fifty seven
Some still alive and others in heaven
We’re glad that you’re here to join in the fun
Some came from afar but many short run
We have other classes who joined in this beaven.
Do you remember those days of yore?
My memory is short what good is it for?
We challenged some teachers who left in a snit
Never to come back we really had grit
For the best of times we went to the shore.
We had awesome teams who won many games
Our coach was a winner just to name a few names
He coached all the sports to the best of the best
Many of you played for him – you were up to the test
Even the gals played some sports without any shames.
Remember how we looked in those days, what a hoot
The hair style and collar styles had to be perfect to boot
No cell phones to bother our social events
We are prisoner to Verizon makes me wince
But progress is progress, companies are making a loot.
Many had their first loves in those high school years
Some even kept going I see it right here
And others moved on to start a new life
And leave us behind to find a new wife
We wish you the best you all are so dear.
Oh, the years how they’ve passed, ever so fast
Thank goodness for hair color, which might even last
But what is important are family and friends
Who love us no matter if hair even thins
So take in the moment, let’s thank those of past.
We thank you for coming to our 50th big party
Wishing you happy memories and health very hardy
Return to your families with warm hearts and laughter
Don’t know when we’ll meet again, perhaps in the hereafter
So class had begun, so let’s not be tardy.
