About This Website

A camel is a “horse designed by a committee”

At a mini-reunion this past May, Bill Jefferson (shaggers3@yahoo.com) mentioned the possibility of the class having a website for photographs and other information. Jefferson said for about a hundred dollars a year, he could set up a website. Two others present (Willie Fischer and Henry Andrews) agreed to help with the minor expenses. Anyone having interest should email him for further details. His phone is (919) 931-6681 in Raleigh. BUT before you do, read on:

From this genesis of an idea, Jefferson contacted Pete Ness (peteness@triad.rr.com), phone (336) 366-4224 and ran the newly conceived Class Of ‘57 website idea past him, looking for input or help with the project. Pete listened/reflected/resisted/tried to wiggle out then relented and agreed that he should take the lead since he’s retired and really doesn’t have anything to do at home, anyhow. Isn’t that right, you retirees?

So, here it is — our camel is born. It’s a cross between “blogging”, a website, photo repository and who knows what next. In time we hope in will mature into an interesting racehorse for all who choose to visit or participate. Comments are welcome and you can make them directly to any article posted in the main blog. Bill or Pete will be able to add new articles submitted by you through email to them. The photo gallery is still under development and will eventually serve to host pictures you wish to share with classmates.

Before you heap all that praise on Bill or Pete for a wonderful job done so quickly, you should also know that Pete’s younger son did all the really dirty work associated with hosting, setup and debugging for the site. Good work, kid!

Finally, in case you are concerned about a cat being elected class president — it’s not true. We just needed a photo to test the process of inserting photos in mainstream articles.
